About K V Tawang
 
The Genesis of the K V   :

Kendriya Vidyalaya Tawang, a School in the remote corner of Arunachal Pradesh, located in the North-Western Part, at an altitude of approx 10,000 feet (from sea level), came into existence in the month of May 2001 of academic year 2001-02, with the initiative of then Deputy Commissioner of Tawang District, Shri Sajjan Singh Yadav, the school started , in the building provides by the district administration , Tawang and with the sanction of classes up to class VIII. The District administration then procured and alloted requisite land (22 acres) for the construction of school building and staff quarters, in the lap of nature near Seru village.

The school got shifted to its new building in 2006 and then onwards the Vidyalaya have adequate space for all the activities.

     
Important Milestones of growth :

In 2001 Vidyalaya was up to VIII class.

In 2004 first batch of 10th class passed-out.

In 2006 first batch of 12th class passed-out.(Science Stream)

     
Gradual year wise expansion in classes and sections leading to present status : In 2001 the school started with a mere srtength of 120 students and was having classes up to VIII, then in 2002 IX and X classes started, in 2004 first batch of 10th class passed-out, in 2006 first batch of 12th class (Science stream) passed-out. Now school have only science stream in 12 class.
     
Details of previous and new campus :

In 2001 when KV Tawang started it used to run in an rented building of the district administration.

In 2006 school was shifted to new permanent campus of its own.

     
Facilities available : K V Tawang have fully equipped three Science Lab, One Computer lab, Junior Science Lab, Library, Volleyball ground & various facilities for indoor games.
